As at 8 May this year’s ride has raised $189,295 with $16,342 expected in dollar matching so we shall exceed our target of $200,000.

A big thank you to our riders and their sponsors for their generosity and to our wonderful Support Team of Claire Allen, Alison Beaumont, Daniel Fink, Barry Irvin, Michelle Jocum, Trish Karedis, Mike Norton, Phillippa Talbot and Andrew Taylor.

Over the past 15 years we have raised over $3.5 million.

Money raised will go towards the $5 million needed to cover the gap between the $10 million that it will cost to run Giant Steps Sydney and Melbourne and the $5m expected to be received from government.

You are still able to sponsor a rider by making  a tax deductible donation either through Everydayhero by clicking here, or for donations above $500 by making a direct deposit by contacting Michelle Jocum at michelle.jocum@giantsteps.net.au

Background

Over the past 14 years we have raised over $3.2 million. Our target for 2019 is to raise $200,000 towards the $5 million needed to cover the gap between the $10 million that it will cost to run Giant Steps Sydney and Melbourne and the $5m that is expected to be received from government.

The money raised from the bike rides has enabled Giant Steps to erect three playgrounds, convert a derelict building into a library and continue to improve the services provided to students and their families. It also facilitated the establishment of a post-school program and an extension to the Early Learning Building. The Llewellyn-Jones Medical Clinic was founded by a donor who is affiliated with the bike ride. The 2018 bike ride helped enable the school to enrol additional students in Sydney and Melbourne, build a new playground and adapt to the introduction of NDIS.
