Over the past 13 years we have raised over $3 million. Our target for 2018 is to raise $200,000 towards the $5 million needed to cover the gap between the $10 million that it will cost to run Giant Steps Sydney and Melbourne and the $5m that is expected to be received from government.
The money raised from the bike rides has enabled Giant Steps to erect three playgrounds, convert a derelict building into a library and continue to improve the services provided to students and their families. It also facilitated the establishment of a post-school program and an extension to the Early Learning Building. The Llewellyn-Jones Medical Clinic was founded by a donor who is affiliated with the bike ride. The 2017 bike ride helped enable the school to enrol additional students in Sydney and Melbourne, build a new playground and adapt to the introduction of NDIS.
